The Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a unique 10-digit code issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. It is mandatory for businesses and individuals involved in import and export activities in India. Without an IEC, no entity can legally conduct import or export transactions.

However, individuals importing or exporting goods for personal use, which are not related to trade, manufacturing, or agriculture, are exempt from obtaining an IEC.

At VPS & Associates, Hyderabad, we assist businesses with:

  • New IEC registration
  • Amendment/modification of existing IEC registrations
  • Compliance with the Foreign Trade Policy
